Apple Orchard Sprayer Workshop Series

Get ready for the 2016 spray season with a sprayer calibration workshop with Dr. Jason Deveau, OMAFRA Application Technology Specialist.

The subject will be modifying the sprayer output to match the canopy, based on a three year study on Crop-Adapted Spraying. The results of the study demonstrated that modifying sprayer output to match the size, shape and density of the canopy resulted in more consistent coverage from block to block, and resulted in an average of 20% savings in pesticide compared to the orchard’s usual practices.

This calibration process is available to apple orchardists in a new smartphone app called OrchardMAX. The app will be demonstrated during the workshop.

All workshops begin promptly at 9:00 am until 12 noon. Dress for the weather.
